Course Description

The Hill Topper 5k course is 3.1 miles of beautiful scenary through the historic Richmond neighborhoods and parks of Church Hill and North Church Hill.

The course starts at 25th and Broad St., next to Patrick Henry Park, to the sound of bagpipes. You then make your way down 24th over to Marshall, from there you'll run to Jefferson Park and past Alamo BBQ.

The trip continues up Jefferson Ave then turns right onto M Street in front of The Roosevelt where you'll eventually pass your first water stop and a cheering group congregated at Ethel Bailey Furman Memorial Park.

After getting a new burst of energy you'll continue down M Street to N 31st Street where you'll head back to Broad St. and eventually cross over into Chimborazo Park.

As you run through Chimborazo Park you'll get to view the old hospital, our wonderful dog park, and then continue around the bottom of the hill. What goes down must come up and that means you, to get back to the top of the hill you'll have to tackle the Chimborazo stairs. But don't worry there'll be water for you before and after the climb.

From here you'll cruise over to Libby Hill Park where you can get a great view of the James River and the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Then it's just a short trip back to 25th and Broad where you'll be greeted with refreshments and the Church Hill Irish Festival!!
